Question re: TCB APA Wetpak

Post by Tickstar »

Hi,

After reading rave reviews on the TCB APA Wetpack and being a huge little creatures fan, I went down to the local TCB and picked one up. Just one question - It came with a safale s-04 (English Ale) yeast, can anyone else who's brewed one confirm it's the s-04 that should come with it and not the us-05 (Americal Ale)?

Want to make sure I didn't get the incorrect yeast in the pack.

Thanks

It comes with S-04, but you can use US-56 if you like and save the S-04 for your next English style ale.

I *think* it is because it came out before US-56 was released, and they didn't want to change the established pack.

Cheers,
Greg

thanks Greg. Just wanted to make sure. If s-04 is the standard yeast then I'm happy with that. I'll be putting it down tomorrow when it cools down a bit here in North Parra. At the moment it's "get F*cked" hot and definitely not brewing weather. Although BOM predicts lower temps for the next week.

Thanks again Greg

Its hot alright..

My Wetpack APA has been in primary for about 7 days so hopefully the temps dont affect it too much.. of to secondary it goes tomorrow.

These TCB Wetpak APA's really seem popular. One of the guys at TCB Girraween was saying they can't produce them fast enough to keep up with demand.

Damn Hot again today. I may put it off another day or so. I've just got myself a couple of those bunnings 25lt drums for use as secondary's. Might try racking the APA also.

Spoke to the TCB people. They said they trialled us 56 and so4 and found not much difference, so went with safale.
