jumping from a spa into a pool repeatedly is always a good hangover cure, problem is you need a spa and a pool!

Doesn't a spa dehydrate you if you spend much time in it? Dark - you suggesting a few mins in each? Damn, sounds like exercise to me :D

it was something i did while staying on one of those U35 island resort places where your encouraged to get pretty smashed at night times, used to wake up befor brekkie, couple mins in the spa to heat up and relax then dive in the pool, straight back into the spa and repeat, really wakes you up :) but is dangerously close to exercise!

Around a litre of water before bed. Berroca in the morning followed by a Bacon & Egg roll & a Gator/Powerade does it for me.

Was at Woolies last night (Marden) and it wasnt there altho its a small shop. Damn keen to get it.

Pale Ale - its a scottish drink, looks an evil coloured orange, seriously, it damn near glows in the dark. Very high sugar content i think. A bit like lucozade but 100 times more potent and hence effective as a hangover cure.

Bacon in a croissant with melted cheese and sauce. Discovered this one in Scotland as well, but hardly surprising really. Land of the deep fried anything.

Gatorade before bed. Cheese and bacon roll for brekkie, larfing ...

Seriously, the hangovers from the HB are nowhere near as bad as those form the chemical company beers.

I agree. Had a couple dozen people over last night for a party. Ignoring the wine drinkers and soft drinkers, there was probably a dozen of us drinking beer with maybe half drinking twice as fast as the others. We drank 19 litres of HB plus another 4 of Coopers/Grolsch. All reports to date suggest the HB resulted in lesser hangovers.

It seems that eating something that gets you metabolising is the real deal as your body gets rid of the nastiness quicker.

my before-bed hangover prevention involves a shitload of water, some orange juice if we have any, and a teaspoon of vegemite. also if i wake up through the night at all i try to have as much water as possible. usually if i do that, i won't feel TOO bad the next day. also drinking homebrew is a safer bet, cause i don't seem to get very bad hangovers from it at all.

sometimes though, you have a night at the pub where you start on coopers, then get sick of paying $7 for a beer so switch to $3.50 schooners of VB, then switch to something like double rum and coke cause some absolute BUTTHOLE bought a round, and then onto jager/tequila/etc shots at the bar. you get so drunk you don't remember going to bed, and wake up at 8am the next morning. still wasted. you feel giddy til about lunchtime, then you get really bad desertmouth and a killer headache. plus if you try to sleep it back off, your head spins too much and you spew. *thumbs up*

Turner, that sounds like my Saturday night, bar the VB.

After several litres of euro beer at Schutzenfest, I went into the city and was paying $1 per schooner of CPA (Although a schooner in Adelaide is about a thimbles worth, only 285ml, but hey it still works out being a full pint for $2).

Vegemite toast has left me feeling ok, just ok though :o

Question on the vegemite, heard of it, does it really work?

well it's full of Vitamin B so I can only assume it works...the placebo effect is helpful anyway, even if the vegemite does nothing

I usually try to down a couple glasses of water and have something to eat before bed, and I usually feel fine the next morning. I wish I took my own advice last night, because today I felt like dying. Guinness and Whiskey is great, Whiskey poured into Guinness helps you get drunk faster, the whiskeyguinness gives you one hell of a hangover.

I came across Irn-Bru for the first time this weekend in Safeway and just out of interest I purchased a bottle. I guess the best way to describe it is a cross between Creamy Soda and Fanta. It costs about the same as the other soft drinks ($1.80 for a 1.25litre).

Can't see how it could be a hangover cure, but different people have different methods I suppose.
"Doc, what can I do about these terrible hangovers?"
'You can stop drinking beer'
"No, seriously Doc, what can I do?"

Irn Bru - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irn-Bru

Interesting to read about the famous Bogan Juice (aka Farmers union Iced Coffee).

Irn Bru works the same as any other hangover cure - water, sugar, caffeine. Using it to wash down grease is my method of choice.

Interesting reading drsmurto

And if you are after FU for a hangover, make sure it is a batch 3 or 4. This can be determined by the underneath of the carton, there is a number stamped into the underside of the carton. For the bogan juice enthusiast.

The trick is to look BEFORE opening the carton, but it is true!
