While searching the planet for information on the effect of copper on beer, I came across this article titled '5 Steps to the Perfect Beer:

Strangely, it did not include as one of the steps "Pour our product down the drain and git yerself a homebrew"...

Beer is never better than when it is delivered from the brewer. It does not improve with age; in fact, over time it will lose some of the crispness of it's flavour. So, for the perfect beer, choose a bottle that hasn't been hanging around the house too long.

That's for pasteurised beer. No yeast present to further condition it or mop up oxidants.

yeah, i guessed that... but it's pretty broad advice to give, considering the more 'connoiseur' style beers - hoegaarden etc - have live yeast in them.

Yeah, pretty bad general advice to give, it implies that's the case with all beer.

Yeah, but most manufacturers consider their beer to be the ONLY beer, don't they? :wink:

Most mass manufacturers, yeah.

It also serves to show that you can tell a Fosters drinker absolutely anything and they will believe it.
