While I'm not a noted stout drinker, we had our latest work Christmas party at the XXXX brewery, and I took the opportunity to sample both the Carbine stout and the XXX on tap there... and especially loved the Carbine.
Does anyone have any experience/theories on cloning it?
Uh oh, my heart just stopped...................................................................................................................................oh, there it goes!
If I ever work it out, should I market it and christen it "Fine Cotton"?

Seriously though, I'd suggest starting with a White tin Coopers Stout and a bag of 'Stout combo' (available from any good HBS) and go from there tasting etc.
I had a Carbine Stout before Christmas, but cannot recall anything in particular about it beyond 'nice stout'

Well, I might just have to drink more stout then... in the name of research of course...
