Hops recommendation for Newcastle Brown Ale?

Post by Emo »

I was thinking of going Fuggles but I'm open to suggestions. I'm a huge fan of Newcy Brown so that's what's going in the fermenter next.

I've bought one of the Brewcraft kits. It does have a bag of some unidentifed hops in it but I don't know what they are. The kit is a tin of brown ale, a bag of what looks like a mixture of light and dark malt and a small bag of unidentified hops. I've bought a packet of Safale yeast and was now thinking about what hops to use.

Ahhhh, good old Brewcraft. As vague as ever.... got very annoyed with their enhancer packs that didnt really tell you what you were paying for!

hops wise - Target and East Kent Goldings are what they use from a quick google.

My suggestion is to stick with what you have but i would be ringing up your HBS and asking for exact quantities of whats in the bag! But you really should be all malt for this one anyway.........
