Get the most out of this website.

Post by SpillsMostOfIt »

I quickly learned upon arriving here (and other brewsites) that most of the problems I was encountering had been had and solved by others before me.

Some of them had posted their findings here already. Some of them had grown so tired of answering the same questions over and over that they responded to almost any question with a harsh "Learn how to search".

There is a search function on this website. You can use it to search all the old discussion threads for that gem of information you need. You might find what you're looking for. In my experience, it is a less than perfect search tool.

So, I use a proper one - Google.

You can tell Google to constrain its search to a particular web site. It's easy. It's (almost) fun.

Say you're using Google to look in this website for all references to skimpy underwear and mullets. You would type into the google search engine:

skimpy underwear mullet site:www.homebrewandbeer.com

Works for any website and makes you more attractive to the opposite sex*.

I hope this helps.

Love it....that is better, because when you search for one thing, and hit back to go back to the list of items that were located, you have to hit refresh etc...and it is a pain sometimes.

I have noticed over the last few months all the influx of new threads to basically answer a question that has already been answered a 100 times before

My advice is try the search before creating a new thread, then if your question is somehow not answered, go for it but you will find in 99% of cases it has already been answered

Nice one on the google spills, you colliewobblers never cease to amaze me   Go get some kegs
Cheers

I've noticed there are a few like yours now....Back off man, I'm a Ghostbuster.

My sig is not meant to be funny, and it's not......It is just something a work-experience kid remembered me saying 10 years ago and it stuck in his head. He repeated it to me 10 years later!!!!

Maybe so.

But you live in Canberra. I think I'll take a sub par sig anyday :P

All jokes aside... I've got this beer thats been down for 6.5days. I know the Coopers instructions say to leave it for atleast 7 but do you think it's OK to bottle?
No smartarse answers telling me to use a hydrometer please.

Yep. About a kilo and a half should fix it, and 100gms of Pride of Ringwood to balance the sweetness.

Really? try-hards? Mine not only comes from a well known movie, it has relevance due to my occupation so not really in the try-hard category. I believe you joined this line of 'sig' well after a few of the others.....

Bloody tourists! Anyone check his visa?
