Another dumb newbie question

Today I put down a Dark Ale using a recipe from the Coopers site

Recipe - 1 Can Tooheys Dark Ale, 1 bag Brew Enhancer 2, 2 teaspoons of Cinnamon, water to 23l

Temp was around 25 - 26 deg C when I added the yeast

I took an OG reading & it came out a 1035 - 1036 (yes I spun the hydrometer thingy

This seems a bit low, should I be concerned?

I don't reckon that's too far off the mark. I would have thought 1036-1040 would be the range.

Did you do a temperature correction on the hydrometer reading?

I haven't ventured into the world of temperature corrections yet. Are the calculations on the hydrometer instructions?

The corrections should have come with the hydrometer.

Here are the corrections for a hydrometer calibrated to 20C:

4-10       -2
11-17      -1
18-22      0
23-26      +1
27-29      +2
30-32      +3
33-35      +4
36-38      +5
49-41      +6

So let's say that your wort was 27C when you took the reading of 1035/36. Therefore, the corrected reading is 1037/38.
