Hi all,
Does anyone have a recipe for Chimay Red label using a kit and a starter bottle for the yeast?

I've only seen partial- and all- grain recipes.

Do you know about these things? They'd have to go pretty close, I reckon, if you're not of a mind to do the 'other' thing...

Wow I didn't know about the brewferm kits, do you happen to know of an Aussie based store that sells em over the net?

Haven't got a Red kit recipe, but have a Blue extract recipe.

See Geoff's No.98 Chimay Blue at http://www.homebrewandbeer.com/ourhomebrews.html

I know it's not what you asked for, but it might be a starting point.

Cheers,

his tasting notes for that brew didn't look too promising :(

I'd have to say that I'm disappointed with the Chimay. A flat, dull taste and a weak head are its abiding characteristics. I'm really at a loss here, as it looks so good on paper.

I think his comment "it looks so good on paper" sums it up. Perhaps something went wrong. Maybe it was the Jan Juc water? I think it would be worth a shot.
