Crown Pilsner
Haha I was playing in a string quartet at a wedding the other day, and I went out the back after we'd finished playing to beg for longnecks. Got myself a case of Crown Lager longnecks, thought "Great! Crown seal longnecks!" But unlike the stubbies, the longnecks are twist tops.
They're the same shape as the stubbies though, with that annoying gold wrapping close to the top that makes it hard to tell when the bottles are full.

Reviving a dead topic here. But I went into Dan Murphys and they were doing a tasting of wines and beer. The beer was Crown Pilsner. It was probably the worst example of a "pilsner" that I have ever tried in my life. There was a complete lack of bitterness, hop aroma and hop flavour.

Re: Crown Pilsner
Good news. Looks like this beer is now where it belongs: Dead.
I can't find any reference about it on the Foster's website, and a Google search doesn't reveal anything useful (except a link to this thread!).
There's also nothing on http://www.crownbeverages.com.au, which is the Crown Lager home page.
Cheers,
Oliver

Re: Crown Pilsner
A friend of mind had an idea and reasoning behind the Crown Pilsner, they found a bunch of old and unused Saaz in storage and decided to make Crown Pilsner.

I think the closest any saaz hops have been to the CUB factory in Abbotsford would be in a car after the driver's visited in the homebrew store around the corner in Church St, RichmondIron-Haggis wrote:... they found a bunch of old and unused Saaz in storage and decided to make Crown Pilsner.
