so who know maybe we will see matilda bay brewkitsG'day Rahne,
Thanks for your interest in Matilda Bay and for taking the time to
write. Thanks also for the compliments on the beers.
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We've just been completely
flat out recently as we're just about to release a new beer. In fact it
will be the replacement for Barking Duck in our "out-there" range.
It's funny you mention home-brew kits as we have just been talking about
that recently. It's something we're certainly considering. We've got
no formal plans yet but watch this space!
We're not too precious about our recipe for Beez Neez. The beer is
quite unique in Australia and is simply made up of equal parts honey,
malted wheat and malted barley. The hops are obviously kept quite low
so there's not too much bitterness and it's fermented at low
temperatures to give the smoothness and drinkability. Have a play with
that and see how you go.
If you're into home brewing, you're probably into big flavours so I'd
suggest you have a look out for our "Brewer's Reserve" and "out-there"
ranges of beers.
Our "Brewer's Reserve" range includes "Alpha Pale Ale" and "Dogbolter
Dark Lager". Up to now they have been released as limited editions in
bottle at certain times of the year only - generally when our brewer
felt like it!

Well we've managed to convince him to keep a permanent supply going so
from now on you should be able to get the Brewer's Reserve all year
round.
Our "out-there" beers, have so far included Barking Duck (Judged third
best "Saison" in the world) and Crema (beer brewed with coffee)

Barking Duck is the current release but will go out of stock very soon
(if not already) and will be replaced by Grayston Reserve in June.
In WA, the following venues stock our full range, including "out-there"
and "Brewer's Reserve":
Old Bridge Cellars, North Fremantle; Liquor Barons, East Fremantle; BWS,
Alfred Cove; The Queens Tavern, Highgate; City Beach Fine Wines, City
Beach; De Vine Cellars, Inglewood; International Beer Shop, Leederville;
Cellarbrations, Kingsley
We'd love to hear how you go.
Cheers!
The Matilda Bay Team

matilda bay producing brew kits ?
well i sent an email to matilda bay an email trying to find out more about beez neez recipe and suggested they should do home brew kits and this is the email i got back
"out-there" ??
who came up with that? Some junior marketing exec who once had something other than a VB at a party cause someone else bought it??
Matilday Bay kinda died for me when it got taken over, I loved Redback back in the early 90's but its a mear shadow of its former self..
The kits might be good tho... the more choice the better I guess.
