Carlingford Stout

Hey Lads,

Thinking about brewing a Carlingford Stout. Looked at the recipe sounds pretty good.....I like my Dark beers
Just wondering if there is anything i need no about it .....new to brewing. Any tips would be much appreciated.

I just had a look at the recipe (scroll to No.38 ) to refresh my mind about it.

It looks pretty straightforward to me. You shouldn't have any problems. Let me know if you need any details.

Probably a stupid comment but hey i'm new to it,

When i strain the oats do i strain the water from the oats into the fermenter, or strain the water away and just add the oats to the fermenter.

Also what does yeast starter made "..." mean.

No worries.

What you're doing is "steeping" the oats in liquid to extract the goodness. You then strain them, chuck away the oats and use the liquid in your beer.
