Grain and grape artisanale fresh wort kit type 2

Post by Dasher »

Hi all,
I have done one of these with pilsener wyeast 2278 I added around 500 grams of be2 and made it up to 23 litres. Boiled the be2 with 25 grams of saaz for 10 minutes.
OG - 1046 FG - 1008
Put down 3 April bottled 21 April.
Have just tried the first one...
Not a bad effort if I do say so myself.
Would welcome any suggestions or ideas about what to do with the next one.
thanks

How did you find the overall quality of this fresh wort compared to something you would make from extract? I'm looking to try on this weekend.

I'll be looking at Kit 3 I think , I've got some wyeast 3944 Belgian Witbier Yeast left over so I figured I'd pick up some Curacao chips while I'm at Grape and Grain along with the kit and really do it right this time. Was just curious to know how these kits compare to your standard extract with say a mini mash. I'd expect them to be a bit nicer again .
