Lately I've heard some really good things about this kit.
What are your experiences with it and what would be a good recipe for a clean, crisp tasting lager with a bit of character using this kit?
Are the lager kit converter things you can you at Brewcraft any good in combination with this kit?
Also what hops would suit this style?

I was thinking of putting down a can of Morgans blue mountain lager with 500g of light dry malt extract and 500g of dextrose. SAF-lager S-23 yeast.
The hops i'm not so sure about but i was thinking 12g of hallertau pellets boiled for 5 mins and strained into the fermenter also 12g of hersbrucker pellets thrown strait into the fermented dry and left in there whilst it ferments.
are the hops alright and how could i improve on this recipe?

Re: Morgans Blue Mountain Lager
Hello, new to this forum, and I know this is a rather dated subject, but....I've also heard great things about Morgans BML, enough so that I just ordered one from a distributer in Canada. Apparently we can't get Morgans products here in the US any longer.
Anyway, your recipe looks like it would produce a great beer. How did it turn out?

Re: Morgans Blue Mountain Lager
one of the better kits....needs surprisingly little hop additions(your recipe is pretty rite)
doesn't have that sour, acid (not to be confused with bitter) aftertaste some other kits have.

Re: Morgans Blue Mountain Lager
Brewed 15-Sep-05
Bottled 21-Sep-05
Morgans Blue Mountain Lager
Morgans master blend lager malt 1KG
10g Hallertau & 10g Perle Put in Cup for 1 Minute with Boiling Water.
This was a nice beer.
I reckon you could go 15 Minutes boiled with the Lager Malt for this one.......was early days of my brewing and pretty much my first venture with Hops.
Cheers

A homebrew is like a fart, only the brewer thinks it's great.
