I real newbie-First time cleaning and missing little bottler
Ok I just got myself a Coopers Kit and a heating pad (since I live in Ballarat it dose get cold at nights).
I have tried to follow the booklet that came with the kit (I have a MODEN home system so I can't watch the VHS). and tried this forum. I have started unpacking the kit now and are ready to start.
Just a question, both in the booklet and here it says to clean and to remove residue etc... WHAT residue? it is brand new, I can't see any..... Anyway since it is brand new dose it still need to be Sanitised?
Also dose it need the 'Little bottler' as that was missing from the kit, and if I do need it where can I get one?

You'll work this out when you are cleaning after your first brew

You should sterilise it regardless, better safe than sorry. I think the video says you should sterilise the fermenter but not worry about the bottles... but why not?
And as for the bottler, it is pretty much a necessity for bottling. It should have come with the kit.
Homebrew shops should have one or try http://www.craftbrewer.com.au

Wrist work
....don't go there
Liz E, I'd find it cumbersome having to turn the tap off at every bottle.
Do you lean it over to get the final litre or so out of fermenter, you must have help
.
How do you bottle, turn tap off and hold fermenter on lean all in one go........ah, that's right your a lady
......but I have a spare Little bottler if you want it, just email me and I will post it to you.
You only need the bit off the end right?
Cheers
Boonie

A homebrew is like a fart, only the brewer thinks it's great.
