Carlton Longnecks - Back to 750ml

The good, the bad and the ugly of commercial beer and breweries, including microbreweries and craft breweries.

Carlton Longnecks - Back to 750ml

Post by gavind »

Havn't seen it for myself yet, but my brother tells me Carlton Draught (and i'm assuming all Carlton United) longnecks have gone back to 750ml. Can anyone shed anymore light on this?

Definitely still 800ml in my neck of the woods. Haven't heard anything about a change back to 750ml, but if they're going to change the bottles they may as well make them crown seals too. 8)

Crwon seals is a pipe dream, 750ml or less is inevitable. Everything seems to be getting smaller and more expensive, like those insane little 250ml bottles of Forex Gold that they want $25 per slab for
Prost and happy brewing!

oh man, if you're gonna drink cheap QLD midstrength, go for powers gold
when i lived on the gold coast i could get 30 cans for $23 - this was only last year, too
tastes like the inside of an arsehole, but worth it if you're just gonna shotgun or beerbong a buttload of them

I second that!

Also I would like to ask, but probably do not want to know, if Turner actually knows what the inside of an arsehole actually tastes like!

I have collected a few of these little bottles. I reckon they are great for storing your liquid yeast cultures.

Yes all Fosters (CUB) longnecks are going to 750ml, except for Crownies which are 700ml anyway. Also in whats going to piss the bogans right off, not only has VB longnecks gone to 750ml they are also coming in at 4.8% alcohol. If you see VB with a far more brighter and glossier green label and packaging it's the 4.8% stuff.

There are a few ways to shotgun a beer. With a can you simply poke a hole in the side of the can while it is still sealed then immediately crack the top and swallow. With a bottle you hit the top of the bbottle with another beer bottle hard (but not hard enough to break it) and it shoots down your throat.

yep this was cans

you poke a mouth-hole in the bottom of the can with a knife, then suck on it, take the strain and crack the tinny. if you've done it right, the beer will literally pour itself down your throat. good times

It requires too much skill! Much easier to just punch a hole in a can or bang the top of a bottle, and more effective as well

Though the beer bong will be hard to beat by this next generation me thinks 8)

Cause the quickest you can scull a full pint (and I'm the quickest person I know, might I add) is just under 10 seconds

If you beerbong a longneck, you're looking at 2 seconds or so

Is everyone forgetting Bob Hawke? Yard glass in about 10 seconds. I also saw a guy scull a litre Stein in about 10 seconds.
