There is a recipe for the Midas Touch in Calagione's Extreme Brewing book if anyone's interested in having a crack at making that one...

I'm a bit against posting recipes from books. Sorry.

It is well worth buying if only for the entertainment factor - there are some way-out beers in there...

I spoke to Sam Calagione, brewer at Dogfish Head Brewery, about how they make this beer, and it is far from the normal beer. Midas Touch is a high-alcohol beverage with a relatively light body, the floral aroma of the Muscat grape juice and a hint of spiciness from saffron.
it's quite possibly the same recipe anyway...
