Nelson Sauvin
Whats a good brew to use this in? I just got some from craftbrewer and was thinking of putting it with a Malt Shovel Two Row Lager and some more malt, can I use it to bitter and for aroma? also will it suit a lager, I've heard its a bit passion fruity so I was looking to make a bit of a passion fruit lager... any comments please
Ross @ CraftBrewer up in QLD runs the finest hop collection ive come across.
He delivers VERY quickly too. I get all my hops/yeast from him.
AND he's got Nelson Savien and NO I dont work there.

Thanks Kevnlis i'm sure it might be a good recipe but seen as i am still a K&K brewer i wont be giving that one a go. Any ideas for a can to use as a base, Blue Mountains Lager perhaps and then adding the N.S at different intervals and after doing further searching on this site might add some Hallertau as well

Bitter to ~ 25-27 IBUs
1/2g/L Nelson Sauvin @ 15mins
1/2g/L Nelson Sauvin @ 5mins
That can be used to do a K&K and is going to be a better base for the clone than the original post was.
The average 3.5 KG of LLME will give the required OG in a 23L batch.
To calculate the bittering hops to be boiled for the full 60 minutes I will need the AA of your hops.
For the 15 and 5 min additions you will add 11.5g each to the boil.

Have tried a couple of experimental brews of late ( i still for some reason cant download beersmith so i just have a go). The first i tried was the Sparkling Ale with 15gms of N. Sauvin and 10 gms of Halletau, along with 5gms of each in the hop ball that goes in the keg. Its only been in the keg a week and already tastes good, time will tell.
The second i done was a Morgans Canadian lager with the same amount of hops. This has been in primary just on two weeks and is ready to keg but i think it tastes great from fermenter, not as bitter and alot lighter than the Sparkling Ale, and has a great passionfruit taste to it. Cant wait for both to age.
( oh and i used the Morgans Pale liquid malt for both)
