tathra weekend

Post by muddy »

Just felt I needed to spruik to the world.

I brewed 5 kegs for a footy trip away to Tathra, NSW (Golden oldies rugby)

As we come from Wollongong we had a good 6 hour bus trip ahead of us.
I did make a couple of wheely bin kegorators, but one was too big and one too small so I settled on a large esky which fitted 3 cornies, swapped my gas bottle for the 3kg one and it fitted in the ekky also strapped to a keg with Occy strap. A pluto gun to dispense and a pewter for all. 3 kegs on way down finished them about 1/2 hour short of tathra, 2 on way back finished about gerringong which is just south of wollongong.

We had 8 cases of Tooheys Old, Coopers green and Hahn Premium and not a bottle was touched when the kegs were on.

In short the yobbos loved my HB.

Had a keg of Porter, English Bitter, Tooheys old clone, 'Blue Piss - The Viking way' ( Also known as Summer Ale, and a standard nondescript Aussie Draught.

I thought better of shocking the boys with APA's and the like so hedged my bets with the above.

I am now committed to providing kegged beer for all Viking trip aways and a case of Porter a month for our long term preso and old school teacher of mine who hasnt drunk a thing but tooheys black for 20 odd years.

More than one person commented that the beers in the pub were all a let down after drinking my HB.

A dozen and a half converts to real beer. One bloke has bought his fermenters and kegs already.

A satisfied brewer I am!!!!

cheers

Well done! Now tell them all to go forth and spread the word!

With a bit of luck rwh is right. Though if they get too worried, they'll just do another series of ads that have nothing even remotely to do with beer...
