IN all seriousness, being that I run a phpBB same as this on another subject totally, admins should be able to remove these spammers and simply ban their email domains. Most of the spammers use free or totally fake email domains. I found once you start banning them constantly they slowly dissapeared. Its either that or have people register with a confirmation before they can use the site.
But removing them as quick as they arive and anning their email domains makes then soon remove th forum form the spambot lists, as they can never get in.
Damm annoying spam. I like the russian mafia's way of dealing with it. They just go find out who is starting all the spam and shoot them. Problm solved.
Who ever said nothing was impossible, never tried to slam a revolving door....
Not sure if this bloke is a spammer or not.
The location makes me wonder.
Just looked at the last 4 pages of new members and there are about 3 and a half of dodgy members from all parts of the globe, all with dodgy websites.
Getting bad lately but they aren't all posting like they used to.
Bloody JTL (as he will now be known). What I don't understand, is why people still open his posts when it is called porn54672...whatever! Could it be any more spam?
Too bad that there is no way to give 'limited moderator' privs to people to clear that stuff out. I'd just go through the membership list and clean out the obvious ones, like pornspamviagraman

Psychostick
Most of them seem to have a web site attached to their accounts. Just sort them in the member list decending with websites. The most of those names can be booted, after you check the sites URL. Also most of the no legit posters have an overseas country in their profile as well. Again best to check them out and see who is a legit poster.
Get all their emails address's as well and add them to the ban list.
If you want someone to admin I am willing to help. I use the exact same phpBB as this for my own forum. I managed to clean out the spammers this way. By banning most of the email domians that the spambots use they soon give up. Took em a few months but I don't get them at all.
You can of course change the way people register accounts with a visual confirmation. That gets rid of many of the spam bots.
