Yeah my problem is, I have enough spare cash to buy the system, but not enough to buy a decent tap or a fridge that I can attach it to.
I have fridges, even empty ones, but none that the god of the household will let me massacre for my love of beer.
It's really quite depressing!
I was looking at getting one of those bronco faucets just to make do until I can afford a proper tap (i'd like to buy that dual tap font thang). Has anyone else used them?

Your best bet is a small second hand chest freezer and a wooden collar. You can fit all 4 kegs in a 150L or so sized freezer and the taps with shank are about $50 each posted. Try "Search4Stuff" there are always alot of second hand fridges and freezers on there. I picked up a second hand 270L Fridge only that was 3 years old for $50 on that website!
There are alot of good threads over at AHB with instructions on how to fit the collar.

Yep, it'll certainly get you going, no probs, and you can normally run the gas line in through the door somewhere using some duct tape or something without even damaging the seals.
The other option is to get a pluto gun which is a bit better but a lot pricier. If you're going to go the tap route later on, definitely go the bronco, they're dirt cheap and certainly do the job.

Get some nuts son and go look in the mirror and repeat after me.....
I AM THE GOD OF MY HOUSEHOLD!!!
Just make sure the missus does not hear you and if she does run
Most simple keg setups will set you back about $350-400 and that includes all the lines,disconects,2 kegs and a tap and all you need is the gas and a fridge, i bought a kelvinator 480L fridge off ebay for $50 and it works fantastic so there is no reason to not go ahead
Looks like it's only going to cost me just over $300 for two kegs so I'm stoked.
I'm going to dive in the deep end tomorrow and purchase purchase purchase! Had a good chat with Ross this afternoon and he guided me through all the bits and pieces I needed.
All that's left to do is track down somewhere on the Gold Coast or northern NSW that I can hire C02 from. Any ideas?

go the $50 ebay fridge... something just went wrong with my fridge over night.. not sure what but i have a puddle and the compressor only runs for a few seconds.
never fear i have another lined up in the next suburb (thanks ebay) i just need to wait until this arvo for the auction to end.
heals there is probably better and cheaper ways but i just walked into my local boc retailer and they sorted me out
Cheers chris but unfortunately I don't have the money to be buying a cylinder outright.

Chris wrote:The only reason most brewers don't keg earlier is because they don't have the money. You do have the money, and for some reason you are resisting?
*sigh*
Or because they don't have the room for a spare fridge
