Kinda Japanese Clone

Post by Brownie »

Looking to make a Japanese Clone, had some once, wish I could remember which one twas nice, thought of something similar to this:

Cooper Lager or Cerveza Kit
500g Rice Malt Syrup
SafLager S-23 Yeast
1Kg Cooper Brew Enhancer 1
12g Teabag Saaz Hops
12g Teabag Tettnanger Hops

Might even add some orange peel for a nice citrus flavour, I know possiblly away from the true Japanese Clone, but......

Thoughts?
Regards,

Brownie.

If you want the citrussy notes then you can use some cascade to finish.... Orange pee will kill your head retention (if you boil it too long anyway...)

Orange pee will kill your head retention
On the other hand, the megaswill brewers manage to get lots of pee in their brews

And very little head...

Cascade would be good for that recipe. I have never had problems with orange peel killing the head of my beers, though in theory it could if you used entirely too much. The hops will be more distinctly citrusy than the orange peel IMHO.
Prost and happy brewing!
