One more thing if you;re around Ross, does the banana flesh go in primary after 5 days of fermenting? Cheers! never had a fruit beer before.A heavy banana aroma would be awesome!

Beerdrinker,

recepie can be simplified a lot, just use any mix of USA hops you like, even straight amarillo will work well.
The important thing is nice bananas. The beer I made, you could smell the aroma across an entire room when you walked in, quite incredible. Freeze the flesh & add to primary when the ferment is basically finished (timing not critical).
you will need to make a larger batch than usual, as you'll have to syphon off the flesh that will settle in the bottom - filtering is a much better option.

cheers Ross

I have some amarillo but wouldnt mind adding like 4 different hop varieties, what hops would you take out of the equation first? is there no hope of using the tap to drain the fermenter with all those bananas? Have never siphoned a brew before. cheers
