dry hopping
what is the best way to dry hop in a keg ,i have been using tea infusers ,the little mesh balls you can buy from kitchen shops ,is there a better way to do it can only get about 10g in them or the pellets expand and dont let the beer soak through ,any help please
Just use more than 1 ball.
Or you could get a bigger ball:

S/s Tea Ball Infuser 6.2cm on chain holds about 40g of pellets!

I have used these hop balls that i got from Craftbrewer in my recent brew. The ball came undone in the keg and blocked the beer tube. Had to rack to another keg so i didnt throw another ball back in. I was looking forward to seeing how it went in the Sparkling Amarillo. Am i right in saying these do not affect the flavour and are purely for the aroma?
Am going to keg another brew with another ball with some Nelson Sauvin so im hoping to have better luck and maybe use a little less so it dosnt come undone!

Mine havent come undone and i used 10-15g of pellets. Plenty of room still for expansion. They shouldnt come undone if you tighten/close them. So how much hops did you add?
Yep, only for aroma. And amarillo gives an amazing aroma - i find it hard not to sit with an open bag of amarillo sniffing away......

Nothing.
April hosts the short but very sweet Hop Shoot season - one of the UK's rarest and most unusual vegetables and a huge hit with Booths' customers, who love their delectable flavour, similar to asparagus.

i often add hops to a half drunk keg that neeeds spicing up. i usually add hop oil though - pure flavour, aroma without any of the headaches of adding pellets.beerdrinker wrote:Has anyone tried adding some hops to a half drunk keg? Re:
anyone bought one of these? Apparently shipping is free? I broke one of my tea balls and am down to one. Had to dry hop the last 2 kegs using pantyhose.....Kevnlis wrote:Just use more than 1 ball.
