While we are doing poles then i think this one needs a mention, its a doozie and i know that ppl on here have brewed and loved it as i did :wink:




Trough Lolly's SNPA Clone
Last updated: 15 November 2007
(All calcs from Promash)
Batch Size: 22L
OG: 1.046
FG: 1.012
IBU: 38.2
EBC: 17.4

Grist:
2kg Bairds Marris Otter
1kg IMC Pale ale malt
1kg Weyermann Munich I - yes, a kilo!
300g Weyermann Pale Wheat
200g Light Crystal 140 Lovibond
1hr infusion mash at 66C - use 2.3 litres per kilo of grain in mashtun.

Boil for one hour with;
Hops:
16g Chinook Pellets 12.4% A/A 60 mins
24g Amarillo Pellets 8.9% A/A 15 mins
16g Cascade Pellets 6.3% A/A at flameout/end of boil

Yeast:
Wyeast 1056 - American Ale fermented at 18C

Optional:
1/2 tab of Whirfloc with 15 to go in the boil

Dont know if it makes any difference to anyone as TL changed the recipe himself but this is the one i brewed ( didnt realise he had edited before i posted the pole) so take your pick im sure they are both as good as one another :lol:


4 kg IMC Ale Malt
0.5 kg Weyermann Munich I
0.25 kg Weyermann Pale Wheat
0.05 kg TF Chocolate Malt
20 g Northern Brewer (Pellets, 7.4 AA%, 60 mins)
18 g Amarillo (Pellets, 8.5 AA%, 30 mins)
10 g Cascade (Pellets, 6.3 AA%, 15 mins)
10 g Amarillo (Pellets, 8.5 AA%, 15 mins)
10 g Cascade (Pellets, 6.3 AA%, 2 mins)
300 ml Wyeast Labs 1056 - American Ale
1 tablet Whirfloc

Me 3. Have done the second (earlier) version twice and will do the first (latest, I think) version this week. One of my best ever brews. Unanimously popular with the visitors..........

As it happens, it was THE brew that converted me to doing partials and then AG, soon after. Thanks TL :wink:

Embarrassed to say i have not made this. About to add it to the list. Any more details on colour, IBUs etc

I just bought some fresh cascade, damn it smells sooooooo good and have more than enough amarillo to do it justice!

Dry hopping?

The latest recipe version is here...
The 24g of Amarillo with 15 to go in the boil gives a decent flavour hit, as does the 16g of Cascade at flameout. Feel free to dry hop but it's already at 38 IBU's so you may want to have a taste when you rack it to the fermenter.
