My local HBS is selling a Brewcraft Kegging setup for about $400 with re-con kegs and all new other gear required(minus gas bottle).

Would I be better off going for one of these that ive attached a link to?

Both of the ebay offers look ok on the surface. I would contact Craftbrewer http://www.craftbrewer.com.au/shop/default.asp?CID=16 before making any purchase though.

I would shop around before buying. $400 is a bit steep for a keg system if you ask me. I just bought my first keg system yesterday for $340. Also purchased a decent drip try as well. Nice and deep one form the Country Brewer, which seems better then most others I have looked at.
Also when shopping around aks about the regulator, and do your research on which ones are the better ones. Some regulators are a bit cheap, while others give good brand regulators with their keg systems.

I don't about buying a keg system off ebay. I would want to inspect the condition of the keg if anything, and make sure they will hold gas. Something you can't do on ebay. It up to you to trust the sellers word I suppose. Also those ones on ebay are $330 but you have to add the postage onto that as well. You may pick up a system with better components for the same cost at your local brew shop.

I bought my keg system off ebay from a guy in QLD and never had a problem, all good quality gear and at the time it was as cheap as i could find, just make sure you know what you are looking at and what exactly is on offer and you cant go wrong.

I will contact craftbrewer, the only thing I guess is that if I buy locally from HBS at least if anyting goes wrong I can go see them or take it to them and dont have to fart arse around with sending gear back or emailing whoever I may have bought it off...

I didn,t really think $400 was that expensive, considering ive looked at the cost of the equipment elsewhere.

2 re-con kegs $130-$180
dual gauge micromatic regulator $110
2 disconnects $24
4mtrs hose $8-$9
Beer tap $80
TOTAL $373 + postage

I find the average price around Sydney is about $350. YOu can get it a bit cheaper, and you can pay more. Shop around and check everyone who is selling them as to what they have to offer.
I still think $400 is a bit to much for a keg setup. Of course it will cost more if you buy the components seperate. Most things are cheaper when you buy them in bulk or bundled into a package.

Im also in Hervey Bay which things are always dearer, the $400 price is for a bundled package and I only have to pay for it and pick it up.

Hay bud i brought my keg system about 6 or 7 months ago from the very 1st link you put up. I just got another tap and 2 disconects from the states of ebay and havnt had a problem wat so ever. All tho i did change my 2 taps to 2 Celli taps from Ross at Craftbrewer which are a god send and i have also brought more kegs from Roos. At the moment i ahve 10 kegss..... Think that should do for a while hahaha

What ever you do just make sure you get kegs as its the best!

Yes i've spoken to Ross about a setup and just have to wait till mid august to order it..

He gave some great advive and for about $435, he advised me on a great setup in which I should'n't have any problems, he will tell you why you should get what he advises, or, if you are on a low budget he'll advise on a setup according to that..

I just think, get it right first up then you dont have to worry about spending more later on when you realise something isnt working..
