Yeast for a Brewferm Grand Cru

Post by Sathias »

HI guys

I have two tins of Brewferm Grand Cru and a 1kg of White Candi Sugar in the cupboard, but they have been there for quite a while so I'm a bit unsure about the Brewferm packet yeast, especially with what will be a strong brew. I was thinking about getting a smack pack to use instead, which of the Wyeast liquid yeasts would be most suitable for a Grand Cru?

i managed to culture the yeast from a bottle of hoegaarden forbidden fruit (as the grand cru has no sediment) for my brewferm grand cru... worked a treat... its a little cheaper than the wyeast, plus you get a beer to drink...

Hmmm I've never done a culture from a commercial brew before, so could be worth a try... down to Man Durphys this weekend then
