beerbelly hopscreen

Post by SUBREW »

Hi Guys, I'm thinking of ordering one of these... what are they like when using hop pellets?
Do they keep the outflow clean enough to pass through a plate chiller?

Cheers!

Never been happier! It works a treat, especially for keeping hop debris out of the plate chiller.

Highly recommend all of beerbelly's shiny brewing stuff! :D

Make sure you order - DrSmurto's Golden Ale as well, $30 for grain, hops and yeast. 8)

I second that.... It is a bloody masterpiece... especially as DrS says if you have a plate chiller (which i have aswell).

I must admit that buying all the good stuff straight out has made brewing really enjoyable (more enjoyable that what i expected)...

Agree, its made my brewing life very relaxed. Being useless with tools i didnt have a hope in hell in making anything for myself so meeting beerbelly pushed me into AG very quickly. Now that he is a one stop AG shop i am set.

I went and visited Mr. Beerbelly recently to have a look at a few options for a full setup.

really good dude. really good shit. he knows his stuff and is happy to help with almost any problem or weird/wonderful design feature you want.

I look forward to getting him to build me my new brewery! I'm just working out the design for it now. Coming soon

Thanks Guys,

If its as good as you say I'm sold... hope the shiping to NZ isnt too steap (excuse pun  )

Might just have to make a worthwhile purchase and get a plate chiller too.

I'm modeling my set up similar to some of you guys (2 Kegs - Rubermaid Chilly bin) I think so your previous posts have allready helped me out heaps...

Cheers

:) actually I have to force myself to call them 'Chilly Bins' or even 'Eskys' ... being British born I still often call them 'Ice Boxes' much to everyones amusement here.... then you get our American cousins calling them Coolers... nations divided by a common language hey?

Geez, I learnt to speak Unglush (English) in Aotearoa (New Zealand).
One of my brothers lives in Cambridge, so lay off the Kiwis and all them Kiwi jokes all you Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Ois.

I wore jandles in summer, jerseys in winter, and ate toasty pies (jaffles) for breakfast.

However, my wife is an Aussie, my kids are 50/50 Aussies, so there.

I'm also a 50/50. Been getting over there quite a bit lately and love the place (and their beers are about 10 billion times better than ours). Hope to live there for a few years at some point if my meagre allocation of years allows.

Mrs warra is an Aussie. I'm not an Aussie, nor a Kiwi. I'm actually a clogwog from Bussum. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bussum
This is a brewing program, and I don't intend to discuss genetics and ethnic issues on here.
As to which of the 2 offspring is which, that depends on who was on top at the relevant time, and I'm not telling.

Discussion of genetics is relevant, so long as it pertains to strains of yeast. :-)

The first sensible thing written since Kiwis were mentioned, but I still think this was meant to be about hop screens :)
