I'm not sure if it's across the whole range but SWMBO just picked up a couple of the stout kits for me from woolies at watergardens shopping centre, not out of date, just said discontinued line on the shelf

Same here, but about six months ago. Woolies tagged the Coopers Stout tin price label as "discontinued". I grabbed the last one for about $7 and they have not returned to stock since.
