The world's worst beer?

I don't understand why the consistant addition of Matilda Bay's "Beez Neez" always features with O & G. You can't compare a beer with addtional pale honey to straight "typical" beers.

If you must, taste it in line-up to the other half dozen honey beers then draw a conclusion, but simply because you believe it makes your stomach turn does not justify it's inclusion.

At the risk of offending more experienced paletes.

I purchased half a dozen Little Creatures Pale Ale over the weekend. It would seem from the taste that the name is accurate & several little creatures were killed & fermented to make this forgetable drop. I have four of these left & will give it another go.

Very malty & not to my liking at all

Luckily at the same time I purchased half a dozen Grolsch swing tops which were thoroughly enjoyable with the bonus of recycling these bottles for my brewing

Even though the fish weren't biting, the sunshine was warm & the beer cold

Also on the beez neez beer, how do they keep the honey taste without it all just fermenting out? None of my beers with honey have had the taste of honey noticeable.

I can guarantee you that we still wouldn't like it (And I think that if a beer makes my stomach turn that's a definite indication for inclusion on the world's worst beer list.)

We don't rate beers based on the type of beers they are. We rate them on whether we like the taste. There's no science to it

I suspect this thread relates only to mainstream or near mainstream beers. If not, I suggest that I have the clear winner of this award. The fact it hasn't been mentioned can only, I suspect, be attributed to the fact that few of you have had the extreme misfortune to taste it.
As much as I don't like to be disparaging of the brewing efforts of others ("hello pot, this is kettle"), I bring to your attention to an offering from the Sunshine Coast Brewery entitled "Ginger Splice". This is not a ginger beer, rather a beer that purports to have some ginger in it. It may well do, but the ginger taste is overwhelmed by what I believe to be pineapple, and another has described as "bubblegum". Difficult to say really, because I wasn't prepared to have a second sip!
In fairness to the brewer, I suspect he is trying to appeal to a market of other than beer drinkers, but it is being sold as beer, so it comes under the gun.
If you find it hard to get, don't worry: this is for the best. But if your curiousity is piqued (and remember what it did to the cat), and you are in the vicinity of the Gold Coast (as winter approaches, almost all Victorians are either here, or wished they were ), it can be purchased at the Parkwood tavern for $2 per schooner. In fact, they gave me one, and I say without shame that I can no longer claim to have never finished a free beer! I guess you can also get it at the Brewery at the Sunshine Coast, but you WILL have a problem if the brewer is in the vivinity when you first taste this beer!
You have been warned!

I did a ESB 15Lt wort kit, with half a kilo of orange blossom honey put in secondary, very noticeable honey aftertaste.
But this thread is all about individual, personal taste buds.
Tried a Geelong Brewing Co. Sparkling Ale, and it's, in my opinion far worse that VB, Southwark or Tooheys, could only manage two mouthfulls, then had too tip down the sink.
And if I have to drink non my homebrew, Cascade premium or Crownies for me, but they are MY TASTE BUDS.

I'd have to agree with the Geelong Bitter being the worst.

We had a work social club doo on a boat up the yarra. The trip included all the beer you could drink.
Instead of normal Carlton Draught on tap. They had this Geelong Bitter which was atrocious and you couldn't go anywhere else. Put a serious dint in our beer drinking for the night.
Was even forced to buy a Boags bottle out of the fridge to wash the evil-eppervescent-compost-water down with.

(As we say in one of our reviews, it's strange how this is 5.8%, as Cooper's Sparkling Ale is, and the Pale Ale is 4.5%, as (surprise surprise), Cooper's Pale Ale is.)

Honey, as we all know, is the concentrated vomit of insects, and as such is right up there with anything our Japanese cousins eat in the disgusting stakes.Nothwithstanding, I have brewed several beers and ciders including honey in various amounts, with pleasing results. The (complex) sugars brew out into alcohol, and the upfront honey taste moves back into the brew, and meshes well with the malt flavours.

What puzzles me about the (pseudo-microbrewed, very expensive) Beez Neez is- why does it taste like it has had artificial honey flavouring added post-fermentation?

Personally.
The Black Ban Bitter at Bell's Hotel (South Melbourne) is, as well as a good alliteration, a much better honey style beer than Beez Neez.

Beez Neez is better out of the bottle than out of the tap.
