Tusker - Vanuatu's Premium!!!

Post by spatch »

After nearly 12hrs since leaving home at 3am, I tasted my first "Tusker" on arriving at
Vanuatu's Lelagon Resort at 2pm and thought, this is going to be a great week, this stuffs alright!
I was sick of it very soon. Bit of a Crownie/VB taste about it but blander and served in plastic glasses
at the pool bar - yuk.
The fact it was free (all inclusive) helped.

Also tasted the "local" whiskey's and Rums (tried a bit too hard at the wedding).
Boy were they interesting!

After a few weeks of the choice between Tusker , Vanuatu Bitter and Pripps - Tusker ain't so bad.

Tusker is not that great but having said that when it is 35 degrees + 110% humidity, you can "slam it down fast".
When I get back to Vanuatu I actually look forward to having my first Tusker. (I freely admit that I probably would baulk at it here in Sydney)

And at the risk of being an outcast I do prefer that style to the sickly sweet Belgian style beers (Hooegarden etc)

Agree with you on the temp thing. After a day of Game Fishing and catching my first Marlin :D , the Tuskers
from the "Waterfront" bar went down in no time flat. Even though it cost me $30 AUD for 5 stubbies!

Ahhh, the Waterfront, sunk some p*ss there over the years.

Hotel Rossi was always my favourite in "the old days" - was there the day after Cyclone Uma destroyed the place. Unfortunately it has made way for some other hotel/shopping plaza.

The "Office" pub is not a bad watering hole these days.
