Adding Hops
Adding Hops
When you add hops pellets to your boil do you just chuck them in loose or should you use a tea bag ..
beauty is in the eye of the beerholder
Re: Adding Hops
I use the extract method at the moment and use a hop sock but when I change to all grain I will throw them in
Re: Adding Hops
I brew AG, and just throw them into the boil.
After I've chilled my wort, I whirlpool it, and most of it will form a cone in the middle of my kettle.
When I drain my kettle, most of it is left behind, but some does get through into the fermenter.
That's not a problem at all, and it will settle in the fermenter in any event.
For dry hopping, I just throw them into the primary fermenter, or if racking a beer, I throw them in at the time of racking.
