Post by chrambo »

For me the best and most consistent -

Morgans Golden sheaf Wheat
1kg tin morgans wheat malt
10gms Saaz - dry hopped
12gms POR teabag
K97 yeast - rehydrated
fill to 21litres

got it from (link removed)
Used to be a good site not sure what its like these days...
cheers, happy brewing :)

Hi Chrambo nice recipe, I just did a similar one except using the Morgans Golden Sheaf Wheat tin I also used 1kg dry malt and WB-06 Yeast, I didn't use any hops now I'm worried I should have, will it turn out ok for this type of wheat beer ???

I would use the dry Munich Wheat yeast. Much better result than the aforementioned!
Prost and happy brewing!

I should also add that POR is absolutely wrong for this style (or any beer IMHO). A good nobel hop like Hallertau or Saaz will do you well!

Do you really need any extra hops in a wheat? Maybe some hallertau or Saaz but i dont think its needed.

Agree, POR has no place in a wheat but lets not go to overboard lest we reinvent that argument on Coopers Sparkling Ale.......

The WB-06 didnt float my boat but i never got around to using the Munich wheat yeast. Only made 1 wheat beer. Ever.
