Coopers Stout yeast starter?

Post by banger »

Almost certain I know the answer to this, but can't hurt getting confirmation....Firstly is Coopers Stout bottle fermented (certain it is), and secondly has anyone made a yeast starter from the dregs?

Cheers all,

You can make a starter from the dregs, but you'd be better to use their green label ale to make a starter.
The green label has a lower alcohol content, and the residual yeast is likely to be healthier and happier as a consequence, and therefore to work better and quicker.

By the same token, could the Mild Ale work even better?

Cheers guys. Luckily for me i have some Coopers pale Ale in the fridge as we speak. I guess that means I'll have to drink a few to get the starter happening...

You need 8 -12 minimum to get a decent starter
