Does anyone know of a supplier in aus who does these? Can't find them except on US sites....

Or you can build your own magnetic stirrer for less than half that price - with parts from Jaycar... :D

yeah at $225 it is a bit of an ask, especially when you wonder how much better than the occasional shake it will be..

Trough would you have a link to how to do that by any chance?

what abt the stir bar?? have seen some home designs using plastic coating....looking for a better idea, ian
are cornflakes flaked corn?

Sure - they're cheap and easily bought - what you need is a decent sized magnet mounted on the fan. Mine is a nice and big elliptical magnet that Jaycar sells. Should move any sized stirbar in any sized flask...

depending on the magnet strength you need if you have a failed PC hard drive laying about, steal the magnets out of that. they are a fairly crazy strength and might be over kill though.
