Nectar Beer and Wine

The good, the bad and the ugly of commercial beer and breweries, including microbreweries and craft breweries.

Nectar Beer and Wine

Anyone in Brisbane heard of this place? A guy on the bar at the Platform Bar recommended it to me as having a pretty good craft beer range. I've yet to check it out and was just wondering whether it was worth going to as opposed to my local Dan Murphy's, which is reasonably well stocked with my kind of beer anyway.

I just dropped by there today and I was lost for words as I gazed upon their wall of beer.

They had just about every beer I had ever drunk, including those I had come across during my time in Munich, Prague and London.

It was difficult to decide but I finally picked up a 6er of Alpha Pale Ale and a 6er of the JS Sundown Lager, both of which I haven't been able to find anywhere else in Brissie.

What are the prices like?

Reasonable?

It's out of the way fro me so I don't want to waste time if they are priced way over the top.

Cheers.
Never tasted FREE beer I couldn't learn to like!

Some of the beers are alright, others are pretty damn expensive. I wouldn't go there if you're just after a beer you could find at Dan's or 1st Choice as you'll probably end up paying more. I'd say this place is best for finding beers that are very difficult to find in the big stores.

Nectar Beer & Wine is a nice bottleshop, even if the prices are a bit steep.
