Hey,
Bottled yesterday 17/01-2009, FG 1021, alc 7.2%, sample was extremely nice, had good bitterness and a good chocolate malty flavour, a few days ago SG was 1021 as well and the sample had that sharp alcohol flavour but that's gone now. I will keep this at least 6 months before I sample, it has good potential, oh and I primed with 1/2 the recommended amount of sugar, will get back to you in 6 months

Cheers and thanks for your help

Berger

I currently have an Ironbark Dark in with some Morgans Dark Crystal LM and S-04.

Looking forward to it.

Annoyed at myself for not picking up hops when I went to town as I threw in some LDM too. Hope it isn't too sweet.

All right, here's an update:

I have had 3 samples now.
#1 mid-April, 3 months old, very nice malty flavour but with a deep lingering bitter aftertaste, head was a few mm high, drank very well but needs more time.
#2 mid May, 4 months old, I am very pleased with it, good maltiness, bitterness good, bitter aftertaste almost gone, a decent head
#3 mid June, 5 months old, now it is fantastic, chocolate coming through really well, bitterness is low but good, head is good, will serve it up for my birthday in mid July and let you know what people think

Colour is a deep red-brown like mahogany, very inviting
Highly recommend his one, one of the best ever, best when it is served slightly warmer than normal

Regards,
Berger
