Hmmm I don't have Fox Speedie. But I can access several shows on Hulu regarding beer. I just recently got BBC iPlayer working also. (All without paying for a VPN service - although one of these will still be heaps cheaper than Fox.) And for as for live sport...I'm watching Super15 tonight:

Fox, and esp that right-wing anti Obama racist-fwit Murdoch can go f___ themselves.

Nope, Hulu doesn't have it, just clips.

isohunt.com has the entire series though ;-)

Once gain, FU Murdoch and Fox.

PS Thanks Murdoch for rat-f__king Skype, and blocking Fring and Nimbuzz. Fring was superior in every way to your bloated, battery-hungry, unreliable, piece of crap of a skype iphone app. Are you going to add send file support anytime soon? Fring had this 3 years ago. Twat.

I found this show on Usenet a while back. It's about Dogfish Head brewery and some of the special brews those guys put together.

This [Brew Masters] looks really good Speedie. Thanks for the info. Only watched the first few mins of episode 1, but I'll watch the rest tonight after the Rugby (Super 15), and Real Time with Bill Maher. I have no idea how I can access all this stuff without a subscription to Fox. One of lifes many mysteries ;-)

No, it's on Fox right now! - See below.

Don't tell me you guys haven't updated to the Fox Premium 'Porn+Beer Channel Selection.' Only $250.00 per month. Murdoch needs your money in order to ensure there's no Black Socialist in the White House after 2012...

Spoiler alert: Episode 1: 6/10. It was okay. When the presenter (who owns the brewery) was talking about the actual beer making process - although the brewery is hardly a small microbrewery. Though to be fair they seem to experiment a lot and churn out lots of different beers - and, you know, deciding what ingredients to put into the brew ["'Hmm think I'll pop down to the Ethiopian Quarter of Washington DC to source ingredients. Miles Davis was Black after all..."], it was engaging and interesting. The rest of the time it was a chore to put up with his EGO and especially the lame/embarrassing hip hop/rap BS. Miles Davis was a Jazz Artist. He also liked to paint. I'm not aware of any hip hop music he put out. And I'm 100% certain there's no hip hop on the album Bitches Brew. Also, it's just blatant crass marketing for the record company to put out a beer called Bitches Brew anyways, not to mention disrespectful. What next, "Abbey Road Abbey Ale"?

The real trouble starts at 31.33 into the show where the presenter and his head brewer buddy start doing their hip hop routine. This routine pops up again at 36.00 as a long drawn out not-even-slightly-funny piece of not-related-in-any-way-to-brewing piece of fluff where he and his head brewer buddy attempt to talk the Sony Records guy into a recording contract. And then again at 43.05 more of his hip hop/rap crap routine. I don't think I've ever watched a tv show and seen a presenter so far up himself that his head actually reemerges through his mouth.

Production values of the show are very similar to "Man vs Food" (which is over-the-top funny) with the added "reality tv time-pressure BS": "We have to get this brew ready in only half the time we're normally afforded. Oh no, there's a problem with the bottling machinery. More hours lost..." Tedious BS.

About 10 mins of the show is good, the rest is just the presenter promoting himself and his brewery. I was being generous when I gave it 6/10.

I thought the hip-hop routine was cringeworthy to the max, but the show wasn't too bad. Having seen a couple of episodes of one or two of the other Discovery Channel (perhaps) shows in this format it was what I expected. Most of the episodes involve brewing ancient beers. There's one more episode in production and that's it though, it's been boned.

Just torrented some of the Michael Jackson beer show at a mate's place. Want to watch that, maybe tonight.

I saw this last night. Putting aside the hip-hop (what was that about) and the fact that the brewery owner and host of the show is a bit of a tosser, I quite enjoyed it.

And as someone said, it is hardly a microbrewery. According to that always-factual Wikipedia it brews 75,000 barrels a year, which according to the Google conversion machine is 8.8 million litres. By comparison, Coopers, which is the third-largest brewer in Australia, brews 60 million.

Cheers,

Oliver

Saw a few episodes of Michael Jackson Beer Hunter today, really interesting program. Some of it's out of date but it's an interesting look back into the industry when it is (specifically the Californian episode I saw).

Hey I stumbled across this program and series linked to record the rest of the season, The episode I watched was about their pumpkin ale - an effort in part with Epic Brewery from New Zealand.

The episode featured Beervana awards segments and also some of the process of how the brewery makes the ale.. not bad but has anyone noticed how much the host guy talks and acts like Keanu Reeves?
