bottling cold
bottling cold
gday,
i bottled up the Wasp Lager last night.
just a quick question, does it make any difference if the beer was cold when bottled ?
Ferment had definitely finished,
14 days primary @ 11*
2 days room temp
12 days secondary @ 5*, so no worries about that side.
i took it out of the u-beaute brew box, bulk primed and bottled.
cheers

I think that is "Nothing Other Than Good" or something close.
And no, cold will not make a difference unless your bottles are really hot and you crack them.

I don't prime that much but my last bottle explosion (only two bottles in 15 brews - pretty good I reckon) sent a sliver of glass two inches long, about a third the thickness of your pinkie, THROUGH the thick cardboard box it was in. Literally fired through - scary stuff.yardglass wrote:thanks DD,
all i've got to worry about now is the fact that i bottled after i'd had quite a few neck oils and bulk primed 19lt with 200gm of Dex.
him bottle, go much big bang

Whats the alternative to having these potential bombs in your house so members of the beloved family arent injured or killed?yardglass wrote:they go off don't they.
might have to invest in a Kevlar drinking Jacket and a Helmet with a Straw.
I cant put them in my shed cos it aint insulated!

after a couple of exploding grolsch bottles the other day I placed remainder of that brew in a 25L plastic storage box with lid on! If anymore rockets go off hopefully that will contain them.
