Hey everyone,

First up thanks to all the contributers on this board, I've just found it (and just started homebrewing) and I'm grateful for the wealth of information you guys provide here.

I was just wondering if anyone can recommend a good book on homebrewing - I've read the homebrewing section in 'Brewing Crafts' by Mike Rodgers-Wilson (recommended in the pamphlet that came with my Brewcraft kit) and thought that'd be enough, but I've now noticed it doesn't even touch on a lot of the techniques I've heard about since, eg racking, dry hopping, lagering, etc.

What's a better book to pick up?

I have a Word formatted copy of How To Brew by John Palmer, if want a copy email me & I'll send it over...its around 243 pages so printing it will take a while!

I have also read some of the 'How to brew by John Palmer' online book. When i was doing my first batch i had no idea what was involved and fermentatin stages were not known. Read that book and now i am fully aware of what happens in fermentation.

A real help!

Best one I have read is called The Complete Guide To Homebrewing In Australia by Laurie Strachon. the great thing about this book is that thoughout the book the measurements are metric and the products are Australian.
In this regard it is so annoying reading British and American books.

Just get yourself an easy-to-use imperial -> metric converter....problem solved!...Ed has one which I am sure he will email to you!

Easiest way to convert:
Type into Google:

70 F = ? C

And hit enter!
Works for most conversions.

I agree, however i recently found Papazian's Complete Joy of Home Brewing, an American book with Metric measurements!!! ...
