I got my first Homebrew Kit, a Tooheys one, for my birthday last year, so it's been about a year since I got into this brewing caper. In that period of time I've expanded to an extra 30L and 15L set of Carboys, picked up new equipment like a superautomatica and a wine fridge for lager brewing, moved on to partials and harvesting commercial yeast, and done 21 brews:
Tooheys Special Draught
Blackrock Apple Cider
Coopers Bavarian Lager
Tooheys Classic Dark Ale
Carlton Cold brewcraft clone
MM Bourbon & Cola
Brewiser Pilsner
Doppelbock
Rice Lager
Mead
Real Amber Ale
Brewcraft Mexican Cerveza + Chilli Beer
Belgian Wit
Framboos Bier
Coopers Honey Pale Ale
Grumpys Boston Cream
Coopers Twocan Stout
Morgans Bitter
Grumpys Red Stag 80/- Ale
Aussie Blonde
Dunkelweizen
Plus I have an Alt recipe and a Grumpys Windjammer Dutch Lager both ready to go when I have the space.
Heres to another 21 brews this year!

Well done NTRabbit, that's quite a year!
Could you give some more info on the MM Bourbon & Cola you made?(In this thread or a new one?)
Years ago a mate's dad was brewing beer but also made mixer drinks,
like Bourbon & Cola, Vodka & Orange, Bundy & Cola.
From memory... he just filled his fermenter with water, added sugars, pitched his yeast & brewed some sort of 5% alcohol base. Then he would put a measure of flavouring concentrate into his stubbies & top up with the stuff he brewed up. Added priming sugar & capped.

Proost - Redsicks
MM = Magic Mixer, small cans you can buy from most HBSs which are pretty much what you described above... or at least could, since the place my brother bought them from doesn't appear to stock them anymore. Honestly didn't turn out too special, had a bit of a funny taste that still hasn't really gone away.Redsicks wrote:Well done NTRabbit, that's quite a year!
