Filtering and naturally conditioning,

Post by mr beer »

I was told by a friend that with coopers Pale ale, the beer is filtered and another yeast is added when it is primed in the bottle.
I bought a wine filter, for $10 on ebay, I read that the same filter can be used for beer on another blog.
 I was wondering if i filtered a pale ale i've got on the go and added a little bit of new yeast and sugar to naturally condition it in a keg, would it come out clearer, and look more professional?
or would i be wasting my time?
:?: allso, does anyone know why a mate of mine keeps on telling me that i must naturally condition a pale ale, I know thats how its done in the factory, but whats wrong with artificial?

Mr Beer,

In the past I have filtered beers and had no problems bottle conditioning. Used a number 1 filter.

And you don't have to naturally condition pale ale, I artificially carbonate most of my brews.

Number 1 is a coarse filter, I don't have a micron size off the top of my head, will look it up though
