I'm in Proserpine where the local HB shop has closed down. Hopefully the guy will still sell from home.

gday fixa,

i'm in Mackay, do you shop at 'The Keg' on Shakespeare St ?

The new HBS over the North Side are trying hard to compete, they did me a good deal on some kegs.

if you have any problems sourcing hb supplies give Younga at the Homebrew Warehouse in Townsville a call, no affiliation at all, he has helped me out a few times.

it's a pity this forum doesn't have a pm function.

Earle,

i heard the hbs in Cannonvale shut up shop, you could also try Younga.

cheers

Cheers yardie!
:D
I used to shop at the keg, but find the manager, umm, ............ :x
The new one near the big bear is great. I fthey don't have it they'll order it for you. only takes a few days too. really helpful, though they don't pretend to know heaps about brewing beer.
Mate, we'll have to get together and compare! i've just started kegging and looking forward to my first kegged glass tonight! :D

know what you mean

agree about Eureka HBS, very willing to help and will order anything you want, the other shop wouldn't get Iodophor in for me, Eureka had it in for me within the week.

i've mailed you about a comparison of the brews, would be good to get another HB'ers opinion, all my mates are bloody XXXX Gold fans

Beerpig,

yeah, that's the one. Eureka Home Brew Supplies.

cheers

Ooooaaaarrrghhh!

Was up in Brissie to stay with the GF's parents for a week recently, decided I had to try XXXX in the native setting. XXXX Bitter was drinkable... XXXX Gold was severely disappointing.

Yardy

Checked out the alleged brew shop only to find it had even less choice than the original one .......................... very disappointing!

A sure sign about the quality of a HBS is if they have a fridge to store hops, yeast etc. At least The Keg has a fridge ..................... it doesn't work, but hey they tried!

Will be sticking to mail order I reckon

Cheers

i suppose i'm a bit biased because they're getting my iodophor and 25kg of grain in for me, joe white as well, not that brewcraft crap.

sorry you had a bummer mate, stick with the other if you're happy.
