Hello all,
anyone ever come across this phenomenon.
picture it......
HB bottled nearly 4 months ago (Bav lagar)
place beer in fridge for half a day and tastes fine.
place beer in fridge for 3 days and its almost undrinkable .
this wasn't a fluke of possibly having an infected bottle as i tried this several times.
am i missing the point or just going insane
drinking a bav at the moment which is 3 weeks old
tastes good and the aroma is good too.
you possibly have a slight infection which stands out more once
chilled?????????
sounds weird but i had had a draught that the longer it matured and was put in the the fridge the greener and less carbonted it became.
don't know if this helps.

I like the "almost" undrinkable....
How many is several? Sounds odd, no answer but the "infected bottles" could be a goer.
I had this prob once with only 1 bottle....but I did a Mexican and gave my neighbour a 6 pack and he managed to find the only off one. and that was 60 stubbies
A homebrew is like a fart, only the brewer thinks it's great.
Give me a flying headbutt.......
I heard someone have this problem before. The guy has a theory that the beer is infected. While a beer is warm, yeast get a hold of it but when it's cold, yeast went suspended and the nasties start to take over.
i had a black rock lager that was similar. bottled then tried after about 8 weeks. was fairly good. came back a week later and it was really quite bad - tasted very cidery. i cracked another few over the weekend (about 12 weeks in bottle) and whilst its still not outstanding, it is definatley better. Im going to put it aside for another month or so and see how it is then.
Theres every chance i could have had a few infected bottles, but i believe it just needed more time.
Unless you don't have enough spare bottles, i would suggest just leaving and coming back in a month or twos time.
