Who buys online here?

Post by goq11k_76 »

hi all,

As the topic suggests, how many brewers here would buy there concentrates etc online, and from that what gives the best prices etc?

I have found quite a few stores but just want to get a feel for others opinions before I start buying.

I buy very simple stuff from Big W or Woolworths, basic stuff from my local Brewcraft, and the more advanced or specialty stuff from online - I've purchased online from Coopers (no stores here in SA stocked their Brewmaster tins), The Country Brewer, and CraftBrewer, and never had any major hassles.

Some minor issues with TCB, such as not sending me one of the kits I ordered and not charging me for it because they were out of stock, but forgetting to actually inform me, and a Pilsner wetpak that came with a mislabelled malt tin. TCB more than made up for that however, sent me a free pair of 425ml tumblers along with my late kit for the first without charging extra shipping, and a free replacement for the second.

I've been meaning to visit Grumpy's myself, the kits I got from them were gifts. ESB is next on my list for trying some 3kg cans. Grain and Grape, well perhaps, but the only thing they have I'm interested in at the moment is some fancy Keg system parts.

I have purchased from Grumpys, The Country Brewer (WetPaks), and a few others, awesome service fast delivery and would recommend most.

http://www.craftbrewer.com.au

Bought some hops, yeast etc and was received next working day.

Very good service too, called me to say one was out of stock, and got good advice on what to substitute for it.

Well recommended.

I agree that they have good product. But their service leaves a lot to be desired. Any shop that makes out they're doing you a favour by packing your order & getting it in the post in under 2 days is questionable IMO. & them wanting 24hrs notice for pick up orders? No thanks, I think I'll stick with the new guys, who are thankfull of the business, & can get the product to my doorstep in under 2 days.
