Could one of you wise brewmasters ( suck suck grovel) advise me on how to best utilise some choc malt grain in a stout or bock ie boil time, temp etc . Ive got 500gms sitting here i want to use in a Bock and or Stout kit , nothing like a nice black beer for chrissy lol :wink: .

have a search for steeping grains in the forums

i usually go for 30mins at 65-70 degrees

probably don't use more that 150g per batch - or it becomes a little over powering

Agree. 100gms of choc malt in a bock or stout gives it a beautiful sweet taste.
Steep it in water that has dropped a bit from boiling. Some people put it in a coffee plunger, or just pop it in a jug for about 20-30mins. Strain it through a colander or seive. Rinse it with about 1/2 litre of hot water
