Post by azaj »

hey guys. just layed down the following

1 muntons export pilsner
1.5 kg liquad malt extract
400 gm glucose
400 gm honey
20 gms saaz pellets

boiled up 2 litres of water, added malt, honey and hops. boiled for 2 mins, let sit for 15 minutes. strained it into the fermenter with the tin and glucose, filled up to 22 litres. all done.

so now i am waiting to bulk prime. it will be the first time i have done it.
do i use normal sugar to bulk prime with? when do i transfer it from the primary to secondary? any other tips would be helpful..

Man, we need a bloody sticky on this stuff.

1. ferment in primary until completion, normally 7 days or so.
2. (optionally) rack to secondary, leave for another period, generally >=7 days.
3. boil priming sugar (standard is dextrose, 8g per litre) in a little water. Add this to an empty fermenter. Rack the beer into this fermenter, trying to get the beer to swirl around to mix the sugar in, but avoid splashing.
4. bottle
