Overfilled!?!?!?

Post by Tadge »

Good day all,
Finally bit the bullet and got a HB setup. Followed the instructions to the letter but overfilled by about a litre, Bugga. Have I blown it?

nope, it'll just be a bit less alcoholic & a bit less body.

What ingredients did you use?

Gday Ash,
Used a T.U.B.S kit, Tas Pale Ale, as stated first brew so I would not have a clue!! It had about a litre of malt, approx a kilo of Dex & Corn syrup, a hop bag and hop oil. All up I filled it to about 23.5litres instead of 22. Should I take this one on the chin or is there a way to fix it?

just let it go & have a 4.5% beer instead of a 5% one (rough guess)

Don't worry!

She will be apples!

It is far better to have a slightly less alcoholic brew and be able to drink 6 longnecks in a session than hve a hghly alcoholic one and only be able to have 2.

it would drop a 5% alcohol brew down to 4.7% with the volumes you were talking about. i highly doubt you'll notice anything, really.

that, and with the extra things you've added, there's plenty to cope with the volume increase anyway.

cheers :)

Tadge,

You've completely buggered it mate, but if you want to drop it round to my place I'd be happy to dispose of it for you.
