just found this HB forum tonight - so Hello...
Long background of HBing - probly about 40 years... started back in the home country... kits... then experimenting... then mashing our own wheat and barley... tried all sorts - and some... LOL
came to oz 20 years ago... didn't bother with HB cos no gear available then up here in the sticks... and readymade so hellish cheap...
2 years ago the daughter bought me a fermenter... no HB shop here mates... mostly use kits from big UU... BE 1 & 2 available, and malt... buy crystal when we go t'Adelaide (once a year - LOL)...
Reading through the posts here brings some  and some  and some  and some :? ... But there's more than a baker's dozen ways to skin a cat - ey... Anyway - to the point:
First time to try Malt shovel two row lager - per directions: supplied yeast
it brewed out in 13 days: not racked (long LONG time since I ever racked)
temp av 10deg: bottled tonight: tasting - HB flavour, hoppy: more like heavy ale than lager... could improve. . .
First time - so don't know what to expect of this...
As always with first timers - I brew to their directions - see what I get - then improve on it. Had I found this site a fortnight ago, I'd have asked first... Anyways - we'll wait and see... And I expect HBer's will have their own suggestions on modifying this particular Must...
Lang may yer lum reek

I haven't heard the term "t'Adelaide" for ages!

Welcome!
