Cleaning Bottles

Post by simonb »

I have some dirty longneck bottles that have been stored in the shed for a while.

What is the best way to be absolutely sure that the insides of these bottles are clean?

I have been told to soak the bottles using sodium metabisulphate and also to rinse using citric acid.

Some of the stuff is hard to get off, even after scrubbing with the bottle brush, which I am not confident gets to all the inside surfaces.

Any help appreciated.

Simonb,
Soaking in a mild bleach solution for a couple of days should shift most of the dirt. A bottle brush fitted to a cordless drill and whatever cleaning solution also does wonders.
