Never done a Morgans, I've done a few Coopers GB...but for a simple GB

either add 1kg Raw Sugar
or 1kg Soft Brown Sugar.

For others they are more complicated...ie Raw Ginger etc.

But try standard first and work from there, you will have a base taste to work from.

If you search the GB recipe there is quite a few, some with lemon etc

Cheers

Boonie

Just do the stock sugar IMO

You can add say 250g Dex on top of the sugar if you want a higher %.......na just go the sugar

Dice or shred, whatever is easiest for you.

Put on boil, steep for 1 hour, mash with potato masher and then strain.

I only used 400gms and it made a large impact on the Ginger bite.

 Nice one morgs

gibbo, Cook on low just below boiling point.

From a website I found.....old time cooking or something like that it was called

"To steep is to allow a substance to stand in liquid below the boiling point, for extraction of flavor, color or other qualities, as tea"

Cheers

I wouldn't even bother using dextrose over sugar in a ginger. It is much more expensive, and provides no real benefits.

I personally prefer 2kg of raw sugar, 1kg raw + 1kg brown, or even 1kg LDM.

I find if you steep finely sliced ginger and add to GB kit, it will improve out of sight.

Theres plenty of other things you can add to make ginger beer better. There are a number of recipes on this forum if you search around. It will give you some good ideas. They are not hard at all to do I don't think.
I just tried one a couple of weeks ago based on a recipe I found on this forum and its turning out well. Was good fun making it, too. Never bothered to steep and strain before. Theres some good ideas from some excellent brewers on here, so maybe take a look around and have a go at one.

Sounds good. If you like it a bit sweet, then add in some Lactose before you bottle it. You can get this form just about any brew shop, otherwise it comes out a bit drier tasting, but some people like that. Depends on your taste.

Hey Gibbo

I just put a Morgans down today (straight K&K) what was the OG that you got with the recipe you posted?

With 1kg of Dextrose I had an OG of 1.030
